Scholarships - A full four-year scholarship is awarded to the Catholic member of the Diocese of Norwich receiving the highest score on the Freshman Entrance Examination in November. The eight highest-ranking boys on this entrance exam are awarded a $2,000 scholarship. These scholarships are awarded regardless of religious affiliation. Also, at the end of grades 9, 10, and 11, a scholarship is awarded to the highest-ranking student in each grade who is not already on scholarship (membership in the Diocese of Norwich or religion is not a factor for these). If the highest-ranking boy is already on scholarship, the scholarship is awarded to the boy with the second highest grade point average. In the case of a tie, the scholarship is divided. Each scholarship winner is expected to maintain at least a "B" average each year. There are no athletic scholarships awarded by Xavier High School.
