We offer state-of-the-art resources and automated search capabilities through the Follett Suite of Library Automation Software. We have over 11,000 volumes and 40 periodical magazine subscriptions for student and faculty use.

  • Provide a wide variety of materials and resources necessary to implement, enrich, and support the educational program of the school.

A Handbook for Research and Creating a Bibliography 

The Galluzzo Center opened on November 17, 2001. 


Hours: On school days, the Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.

Circulation: Books and back issues of magazines may be taken out for a three-week period and may be renewed if they are not in demand. Current issues of magazines and reference books circulate only overnight. Videos or DVD’s may be checked out for three days. A fine of five cents per school day is charged for overdue materials.

Research Tools: The OPAC (on-line public access computer) is the electronic card catalog that lists the media center’s holdings by author/title or subject. Periodical indexes are also available. Students have access to the Internet for research purposes only. There are several online databases available for student use. These are accessible from any web brower with a user name and password. The staff of the Galluzzo center offers assistance to students and faculty with the location and use of all information resources.

Orientation Classes: All freshmen English classes are brought to the Galluzzo Center for orientation to the research databases and to the policies of the media center. A goal of the Galluzzo Center is to ensure that students are effective users of information and technology.

A.V. Equipment: There are twenty-six computers and ten netbooks available for student use. Presently our Software Standards are: Windows VISTA Business and Microsoft Office 2003 Professional (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The Galluzzo Center maintains a significant collection of audiovisual materials and equipment that is available for student and faculty use. There is a scanner, photocopier, digital camera and camcorder, LCD projectors for PowerPoint presentations, Mimio (an interactive digital whiteboard recorder), audio books and DVD players. All are available for classroom use.

Atmosphere: An atmosphere of quiet study prevails in the Galluzzo Center. No game playing is permitted in the media center except for chess, checkers, scrabble, and other quiet board games. Students are not allowed to use computers and/or calculators for video games or social use. Reading is encouraged both for school and for pleasure.
