General Information
Welcome, parents and sailors, to the Xavier Sailing Team, home of the 2004 and 2006 CT State Sailing Champions. Our team is a member of the Northeast Schools Sailing Association. Sailing is both a Fall and Spring season varsity level sport. Our fall season, as is true for most high school sailing programs, is predominantly developmental. The spring season features a very competitive schedule against some of the best sailing teams in the Northeast. Our home club is Pettipaug Yacht Club in Essex on the CT River, where we practice three days a week. The team competes in regattas throughout New England.

In addition to capturing the state crown in 2004 and 2006, the sailing team also qualified for the 2006 New England Fleet Racing Championship O’Day Finals, finishing 7th in New England out of over eighty high school sailing programs in the region. In Team Racing, the Xavier Sailing Team earned a berth in the 2006 New England Team Racing Championship at Martha's Vineyard and finished 7th in New England again. Additionally, Xavier sailors traveled to Austin, TX in the autumn and placed 3rd in the Great Oaks National Championship.
