Prepare

Wherever they go, whatever they do...our students are ready to take on the next challenge.

At Xavier, our students are given the tools to handle what life throws at them.

Through the help of our teachers, coaches and staff members, Xavier students become skilled at handling any obstacle in their way.

In fact, they leave Xavier not only ready, but excited for the next big test in their life.

How does it happen?

From the classroom to the fields to the stage, we demand more of our students. And together, they demand more of each other. They want to be prepared for life. It is a special environment.

Grow

From the minute they arrive, our students focus on becoming the best version of themselves.

Four years.

For some high school students in can seem like a lifetime. But for the last 59 years, our students have spent the most important years of their life learning what they are made of and what they want to be.

Our students come to Xavier ready to take the necessary steps in their growth. And by the time they leave they not only know what they want from life they know what they want from themselves.

It doesn't matter what their dream is. At Xavier, we're going to help it grow.

Lead

To lead is to serve. ... Every day, our students are asked to live the Xaverian mission and give back.

Each morning at Xavier starts the same, close to 700 students walk through the doors of the building in pursuit of something.

Some chase visions of academic excellence and acceptance into the top colleges in the country. Others are looking to get better in the athletic arena or in the music room. Some want to challenge themselves spiritually and find out more about themselves. But at Xavier, each dream matters. And by the time they leave our school, they're not only ready to chase that dream in the real world they're ready to be leaders.

At Xavier, we take leadership serious. Our students come to Xavier ready to learn what it means to be a leader and when they leave they're ready to give back.

Our Philosophy

Xavier Crest
We are a Catholic community fostering excellence in scholarship, leadership and service. Upon his graduation from Xavier High School, each alumnus will have developed the academic skills and self-discipline needed to undertake not only the challenge of a college education, but also a life-long process of learning: the ability to access and to critically assess information and the skills needed to make individual decisions; a willingness to respond to the call of the gospel message through community service; an appreciation for the various cultures in our global community; a sensitivity to the needs of all human beings; an understanding of how to live within a Christian framework, fully, in spirit, mind and body. St. Ireneaus wrote, “The glory of God is the human person fully alive.” Xavier attempts to be part of the formation of such persons, young men who are prepared for college, for the work force, and above all, for the challenge and responsibility of life itself.

Our Mission

Xavier Crest
As a Catholic college preparatory school sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers and the Diocese of Norwich, Xavier High School fosters the spiritual, academic, and physical growth of its students and challenges them to use their God-given talents in service to others so that each Xavier graduate is fully prepared to respond to the Christian call of our school motto, “Be A Man."
