The Xavier Experience
Xavier is a place of transformation education where boys become men under the guidance of dedicated faculty and staff. Xavier sets its students on a path of academic success through rigorous course work . Xavier graduates go on to attend competitive colleges and universities throughout the United States and are prepared to take on the challenges life brings.
A Transformative Experience
At Xavier, being a great student means that our young men fulfill their God-given potential in all of their endeavors, whether in academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, or in service to others.
The five virtues of the Xaverian charism: Compassion, Simplicity, Humility, Trust and Zeal serve as a compass throughout a student’s tenure at Xavier. Our dedicated faculty and staff, led by the active presence of the Xaverian Brothers remind our young men that “in harmony small things grow.”
If you’re fortunate enough to run into a recent Xavier graduate, he will undoubtedly say, “I was extremely well prepared for college.” We have a rigorous curriculum in which students work hard and actively participate in class.
Our expert faculty help each student to improve his comprehension, writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills. This broad-based program gives each graduate the tools needed to be successful not only in college but in life itself.
Sometimes referred to as the 8th period of the day, the learning experience continues well after dismissal. As an original member of the Southern Connecticut Conference as well as a perennial member of Class LL, the largest and most competitive division of the CIAC, Xavier’s athletic program ranks among the best that the state has to offer.
Before practice or games, however, our teachers coach our young men through any difficulties they may be encountering through extra help sessions held after school. The enduring personal relationships between teachers and students is truly a hallmark of the Xavier experience.
