Our Headmaster
"A Special Place" He Calls Home
David C. Eustis Jr., named the headmaster at Xavier High School in 2017, is in his fifth school year.
He formerly served as President and Chief Administrator of Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, overseeing the operations of the co-educational college preparatory high school. During his tenure there, the school experienced stability in enrollment, the highest academic test scores in the school’s history, expansion and improvement in facilities, and unsurpassed growth in the annual fund.
Before Northwest Catholic, Mr. Eustis was the associate head of school at Cheshire Academy, focusing on the school’s advancement, finances and facilities.
Here's a little more about Mr. Eustis. As you’ll see, his favorite meal includes a New York strip steak, though his sports tastes have a distinct Boston flavor:
Born/resides: Born in Boston, lives in Farmington, CT. After Boston lived in Seattle, San Francisco, Buffalo and then Simsbury for high school.
Family: Wife Eileen, Principal, Berlin High School. Sons Curt and Kevin, and daughter Kelly.
What makes Xavier special: The Brotherhood. It is such a special community, from the resident Xaverian Brothers to the diversity of having boys from 60 towns attend the school. The passion of the teaching faculty, staff, administrators, coaches and moderators is unparalleled in my career in education. A strong alumni base that has boundless energy in its support of the school.
Favorite pro/college sports teams: Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox, Notre Dame football, UConn basketball, (and I love Formula 1 auto racing)!
Favorite food: Perfect meal is NY strip steak, baked potato and grilled asparagus.
Hobbies: Landscaping, running, golf.
Message to the Xavier community: Xavier is such a special school. Let’s continue to produce excellence and let the world know about it.
