The All Saints Day Mass on Friday at Xavier High School had a special touch.

Jordan Hetu '21 received his First Communion in front of the Xavier student body gathered for the Mass.

"He did it all on his own and we are really proud of him," said Bob Hetu, Jordan's father, who was at the Mass with Jordan's mom Cindy. "He wanted to do this at school in front of everyone."

Jordan gave a lot of credit to Xavier religion teacher Bill Garrity, who helped celebrate the moment on the altar.

"If it wasn't for Xavier I wouldn't have gotten to where I am now," Jordan said. "I felt a calling. Not from the moment I got here, but from going to Mass and classes. Mr. Garrity was critical in that sense. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be standing here."
