The school year at Xavier High School officially opens Tuesday, Sept. 3, following the Labor Day weekend holiday. Here are two key dates for parents of seniors and freshmen.
FOR PARENTS OF SENIORS
Senior Parent College Night, Sept. 5, 6:30 p.m.: Learn all the ins and outs of the college application process. Sign up at https://tinyurl.com/y2ul7mmt.
The goal of this night is to provide your family with information that will help make the college application process less stressful and more manageable. The College Application Workshop includes an overview of the Common Application.
FOR PARENTS OF FRESHMEN
Freshmen Parent Guidance/Campus Ministry Program, Sept. 18, 6:30 p.m. The Guidance, Campus Ministry, and Religion Departments work together to help students transition to Xavier. This program has been very well received by parents of former students and worth attending for those new to the Xavier community.
Guidance shares information on services offered to help students have a successful academic year. The Campus Ministry and the Religion Departments discuss retreats, volunteer opportunities, curriculum, and our Peer Ministry program.
"In the past, parents and guardians have found this evening very worthwhile," Guidance Counselor Joan Tomasiello said.
