Xavier High School's Senior Parent College Night – "The College Application Workshop" – is tomorrow, Sept. 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Among the many things you'll learn:
Who (student, parents, Xavier Guidance) is responsible for various aspects of the process.
The benefits of Naviance.
When to apply to colleges.
Distinguishing yourself in your own voice on your college application essay.
Letters of recommendation.
How transcripts and rec letters are sent.
College Board SAT and ACT test dates.
All about the "common application," which is one application that can go to several schools; over 800 colleges accept it.
College visits at Xavier.
The goal of the night is to make the college application process as manageable as possible. So please come to Xavier for this important event. Your son may have just started his senior year in high school, but his freshman year in college is not that far away.
