The Xavier Golf team etched its name in the record books once again, winning the CIAC Division I State Championship at Keney Park Golf Course with a dominant team performance. The Falcons posted a team score of 280, finishing nine strokes ahead of second-place North Haven to secure the program's third state title — and second consecutive State Championship.
Xavier was led by Junior standout Ryan Glen, who fired a scorching 4-under-par round, setting the tone early and never looking back. Bennett Cedillo followed closely with a strong 2-under performance, while Matteo Barbaro and Jack Dennis each contributed solid rounds of +3, helping round out the team's impressive overall showing.
"This was a complete team effort," said Head Coach Mike Kohs. "The guys stayed composed, trusted their preparation, and executed when it mattered most. We're proud of their focus and fight."
Coach Kohs, along with Assistant Coach Mike Cunningham, guided the team with poise throughout the season and into championship form at Keney Park. The win marks another chapter of excellence in Xavier Golf history, reinforcing the program's place among the elite in Connecticut high school golf.
Congratulations to Coach Kohs, Coach Cunningham, and the entire Xavier Golf team on their championship season!
