Senior Final Exams: Spring 2025
May 9th through May 14th
Exam Schedule
All final exams are ninety minutes in length. We will follow the A Day Schedule for exams, as follows:
- Friday, 5/9: Periods A1 and A2 exams
- Monday, 5/12: Periods A3 and 4 exams
- Tuesday, 5/13: Periods 5/5a and A6 exams
- Wednesday, 5/14: Period A7 exam
The first exam of each day runs from 8:20 – 9:50 AM, and the second exam runs 10:04 – 11:34 AM. Seniors must report to the appropriate classrooms by 8:15 AM and 10:00 AM respectively.
Seniors must remain in the exam room for the entire exam period. Seniors who finish an exam early will not be permitted to leave early.
Locations of Exams
Because regular classes are going on in the building for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, a special schedule has been developed for exam locations. The schedule is found on the pages at the end of this memo. Please note in advance where your exam rooms are located.
Exam Attendance
All seniors must be present for final exams, and all seniors are expected to take their exams during the assigned period. The only exceptions are seniors who have been exempted from a final exam, or seniors who have a conflict with a final exam and an AP exam. If a senior has a conflict between a final exam and an AP exam, the senior should go to the AP exam and make up the final exam during one of the makeup exam periods.
Seniors who have a resource period do not have to be in school for that period. Likewise, seniors who met the criteria to be exempted from a final exam do not have to be in school for that period. If a senior decides to be in the building for his resource period of for an exam period in which he was exempted, he must report to the dining hall or media center for that period.
Make-Up Exams
When necessary due to conflicts, make-up exams will take place on Wednesday, May 14th at 10:04 AM. Seniors who have not completed all exams by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 14th are required to come in on Thursday, May 15th at 8:10 to take their remaining exams in the dining hall.
Dress Code
During final exams and graduation practices, the secondary dress code will be in effect.
Value of Exams
Please keep in mind that, for full-year courses, the final exam counts as 10% of the final course average. For spring semester courses, the final exam counts as 20% of the final course average. Please be sure to prepare for your exams and do your best!
Dining Hall
The dining hall will be open for breakfast as usual during senior final exam days.
Graduation Rehearsals
Graduation Rehearsals begin promptly at 9:00 AM on Tuesday May 20th and Wednesday May 21st.
Both Graduation Rehearsals are mandatory for all seniors.
Senior Report Cards and Summer School
Senior report cards will be available in OnCampus after 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27th.
Any senior who fails a course for the year will be notified by mail prior to graduation weekend. Individual summer school courses will be offered at Xavier only if the numbers justify them and teachers are available. If a course is not offered at Xavier, a student who has failed a course will have to find an alternative program at another school as approved by Mr. St. George.
*** Senior exams will follow an “A” day schedule.
