Intramural Sports

The big shot at the right moment. The goal that puts their team ahead in the final seconds. The surprise home run. 
 
For years, our students have been making countless memories in the pursuit of intramural glory. 
 
Those memories might avoid the limelight and the headlines. But they matter at Xavier. And they will once again happen this school year. 
 
We're proud to present our new guidelines and protocols for the 2020-2021 Intramural season. 
 
Below you will find all the scheduling, safety and sign-up information you're looking for when it comes to this season's intramural program.

  • Intramural Basketball will be held every Monday and Wednesday in the gym from 2:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. 
  • All Athletes will change in the locker room and carry all of their belongings into the gym
  • There will be NO pick-up games played this year. Basketball activities will be skill-orientated. 
  • A student must up sign up prior to attending intramurals. Please see Mr. Michael Kohs '84 to sign up. The number of players for each day is limited to 24. 
  • Due to limited space, please only sign up if you're certain you will be attending. 
 
  • Intramural baseball will take place twice a week and games will be played on Richard Magner '69 Field. Please contact Dean of Students Mr. Nicholas Cerreta '01 for more details. 
  • All athletes will get changed in a designated classroom and should bring all belongings out to Richard Magner '69 Field. 
  • Anyone participating in intramural baseball is strongly encouraged to bring their own equipment. Any shared equipment must be disinfected before being shared with other players. 
  • A student must up sign up prior to attending intramurals. Please contact Mr. Cerreta to sign up. The number of players for each day is limited to 20. 
  • Due to limited space, please only sign up if you're certain you will be attending. 
 
  • Intramural Ultimate will be held every Thursday from 3 - 3:45 p.m. on the back grass field.
  • Athletes will change in Room SJ2. All belongings must be brought to Field. 
  • There will be NO pick-up games played. Ultimate activities will be skill-orientated. 
  • A student must up sign up prior to attending intramurals. Please contact Mr. David Applegate '98 to sign up. The number of players for each day is limited to 30 people. 
  • Due to limited space, please only sign up if you're certain you will be attending. 
 
  • Intramural Golf will take place every Thursday at Portland West Golf Course. Athletes will be bussed to the course and picked up by parents at the course. YOU MUST WEAR A MASK ON THE BUS. 
  • Athletes can store their golf bags in the auxiliary gym. They must bring all belongings with them to the course.
  • A student must sign up prior to attending intramurals. Please contact Mr. Michael Kohs '84 to sign up. The number of golfers for each day is limited to 12. 
  • Due to limited space, please only sign up if you're certain you will be attending. 
 
  • Intramural Hockey will take place every Monday from 2:45 - 3:45 p.m. on the turf field. 
  • Athletes will change in the locker room and carry all of their belongings out to the turf. 
  • All equipment must be disinfected after use. 
  • A student must sign up prior to attending intramurals. Please contact Ms. Lee to sign up. The number of players each day is 10. 
  • Due to limited space, please only sign up if you're certain you will be attending. 
 
  • Intramural Table Tennis will take place every Thursday from 2:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. in the courtyard. 
  • Anyone participating in intramural tennis MUST WEAR A MASK WHILE WAITING TO PLAY.
  • All equipment must be disinfected after use. 
  • A student must sign up prior to attending intramurals. Please contact Mr. Robert King to sign up. The number of players each day is 12. 
  • Due to limited space, please only sign up if you're certain you will be attending. 
 
  • The weight room will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3 - 4:15 p.m. MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES DURING STRENGTH TRAINING.
  • All weightlifters will get changed in the Tony Jaskot '69 Fitness Room and must leave all belongings in the room. 
  • All equipment must be disinfected after use. 
  • A student must sign up prior to attending intramurals. Please contact Mr. Kramar to sign up. The number of weightlifters each day is 10. 
  • Due to limited space, please only sign up if you're certain you will be attending.
