December 2025

 

Exam Schedule

The Midyear Exam Schedule is as follows:
 

Monday, December 15

Day A Schedule, Periods 1 and 2

Tuesday, December 16

Day A Schedule, Periods 3 and 4/4a

Wednesday, December 17

Day A Schedule, Periods 5/5a and 6

Thursday, December 18

Day A Schedule, Period 7 and Makeup Exams as Necessary

Friday, December 19

Snow Date and Makeup Exams as Necessary

 

 Exam Times  (All exams are 90 minutes in length)

  • Students are to report to their first exam at 8:10. The bell will ring at 8:15, followed by morning prayer.

  • First Exam: 8:20-9:50 a.m. each day

  • Second Exam: 10:05-11:35 a.m. each day

  • There is a snack break between exams. 

Transportation

  • Dropoff will remain unchanged each day, with buses running Monday through Thursday.

  • Pickup on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be at dismissal, with buses at 11:35 a.m.

  • Pickup on Thursday will be at dismissal, with buses at 9:50 a.m. 

Snow Delays or Closings

  • If school is delayed on any day during exam week, the schedule will be delayed 2 hours. The first exam will run from 10:20-11:50 a.m. and the second exam will run from 12:05-1:35 p.m.

  • If school is cancelled on any day during exam week, all exams will be pushed back by one day. For Example: If exams were to be cancelled on Tuesday, 12/16, then the period 3 and 4 exams would take place on Wednesday, 12/17, the period 5 and 6 exams would take place on Thursday, 12/18, and the period 7 exam would take place on Friday 12/19.

  • With snow days a real possibility in the month of December, families should be prepared for students to be in school on Friday 12/19 to take exams. 

Attendance

  • All students must be present for midyear exams. Students who are absent are expected to make up their exams on the day they return and will be asked to provide a doctor's note.
     
  • Students in full-year courses and .5 electives must be in their classrooms during exams.

  •  The only exceptions are:
  1. Seniors who have a Free Period,
  2. Juniors who have a Resource Period, and
  3. Students who are enrolled in a music ensemble
  •  If any junior or senior has a Resource or Free Period in a given period, but is staying in the building through that exam period, he must report to the Media Center for a study hall. While in the Media Center, all students should silently study.

  • Students enrolled in music ensembles who are in the building during that exam period MUST report to the music room during their exam period for a study hall. 

Dress Code

  • Secondary Dress Code will be in effect for exam week.  

Dining Hall & Food

  • Breakfast will be available in the Dining Hall each day of exam week from 7:40-8:10 a.m.
     
  • Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack to eat during the break between exams (9:50-10:05 a.m.). Students are also permitted to bring a bottle of water to drink during exams.

  • Lunch will not be available for purchase during exam week. Any student who will be staying after school for any reason (i.e., athletic practice or other extra-curricular activity later in the day) is encouraged to bring a bag lunch. 

Media Center

  • The Media Center will be open until 1:00 p.m. on all exam days.  

Makeup Exams

  • If a student must miss an exam due to illness, makeup exams will be held on Thursday 12/18 at 10:05 a.m. and on Friday, 12/19 at 8:15 a.m. Please note that buses will not be running on Friday 12/19.
     
  • Students making up exams are to report to Mr. St. George or Mr. Gargano in the Main Office.

  • If a student misses multiple exams due to illness, he will be expected to come in to school on Monday, 12/22 at 8:15 a.m. to complete any remaining exams.

Exam Grades

  • A special report card listing Midyear Exam Grades will be published on Friday, January 9, 2026.

  • The second marking period will continue in January and will close on Friday, January 23, 2026. Complete midyear report cards that include grades from the first and second marking periods, as well as midyear exams and midyear course averages, will be published on Friday, January 30, 2026.
     
  • Please note that, for a full-year course, the midyear exam counts as 10% of the overall grade for the course. For a semester course, the midyear exam counts as 20% of the overall grade for the course. All students should take care to prepare for exams seriously. 

Lockers

  • As a reminder, all students must empty their lockers by the end of exam week so they can be cleaned over Christmas break.
