Dear Xavier Families,
As another week in the spring semester comes to a close, there is a familiar feeling beginning to settle over our campus. You can sense it in the hallways, hear it in the conversations between classmates, and see it in the smiles shared between teachers and students. At Xavier, May always carries a certain kind of meaning. It is a season of reflection, celebration, and anticipation for what comes next.
Last Saturday evening, our Freshman/Sophomore Semi-Formal brought students together for a night filled with music, laughter, and memories. The event was a tremendous success, and it was wonderful to see our younger Falcons enjoying time with friends and classmates while continuing to build the bonds and friendships that make the Xavier brotherhood so special.
As final exams for our seniors and AP exams wrapped up this week, we took another step closer to one of the most meaningful milestones in a Xavier student’s journey: Graduation. The countdown is officially on, and we cannot wait to celebrate the Class of 2026 next week alongside their families and friends. There is a special energy surrounding our seniors right now, a mixture of excitement, pride, gratitude, and reflection as they prepare to walk across the stage and join the long line of Xavier alumni who came before them.
Graduation practice will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, and we will gather for the Senior Breakfast on Wednesday morning, a Xavier tradition filled with laughter, memories, and a few surprises. The link to view next week’s Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Ceremony can be found later in this newsletter.
On campus, student leadership is already beginning to take shape for next year as the Student Activities Council holds elections for officer positions. Xavier has always been a place where leadership is not simply talked about, but lived out each day through service, integrity, and brotherhood. We look forward to seeing the next group of student leaders help guide our community into the future.
On Thursday, we gathered together as a school community for the Ascension of Jesus Mass, our final all-school Mass of the academic year. In the midst of busy schedules and end-of-year activities, moments like these remind us who we are as a faith community. Coming together in prayer allows us to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the many blessings of this school year while strengthening the bonds that unite us as brothers in Christ.
After Mass on Thursday, I had the honor of announcing to our community that Associate President, Andrew Gargano, will be recognized at the 16th Annual Seton Scholarship Dinner next fall. For more than 28 years, Mr. Gargano has a valued member of the Xavier community. His impact cannot be measured just in his years of service, but rather in the relationships he has built, the lives he has influenced, and the countless moments where he has made a difference, whether through encouragement, guidance, or simply being present when it mattered most.
I wanted to share an excerpt Sunday's Gospel from Matthew 28: 20.
"And behold, I am with you always, until the end of age."
As another school year begins to wind down, these words remind us that none of us walks alone. At Xavier, we strive to help our students grow not only in knowledge, but also in faith, character, and brotherhood. In classrooms, on stages, on athletic fields, and in moments of service to others, we are reminded that God’s presence guides and strengthens our community each day. It is a message of comfort and purpose for our students, families, faculty, and alumni alike, reminding us that wherever life leads, we are called to move forward with faith, knowing Christ walks beside us.
God Bless!
Mr. Cerreta '01 President, Xavier High School

FROM THE ENROLLMENT OFFICE
- We have an interested exchange student that would like to study at Xavier! Len is a 16 year old from China who is interested in sailing and skiing. He also plays guitar and enjoys reading detective and mystery books. If you're interested in hosting Len please email Chris Sansone, Director of Enrollment. Len wrote the following "I am 16 years old and in 10th grade. In my city, we have a famous 'morning tea' culture where people chat, joke, and enjoy local foods like White Cut Chicken. I have a little sister and some pet turtles, and we take care of them together every weekend. I like to sail with my team, read mysteries like Murder on the Orient Express, and study Microeconomics because it helps me understand the world around me. I can’t wait to study in the US, make new friends, share my culture, and bring my humor and positive attitude to new environments."
- ASSE International is partnering with Xavier High School to welcome international high school exchange students, ages 15-18, into your family and create bonds that will last a lifetime. Hosting an international student offers a unique cultural exchange experience for both the student and your family. Families that host an exchange student will receive a $5,000 tuition discount. To learn more about hosting an international exchange student or contact Chris Sansone, Director of Enrollment.
