Xavier High School Parent Weekly Newsletter - May 22

Xavier High School logo
Dear Xavier Families,

This evening, we gather for a moment that is both joyful and bittersweet: our Baccalaureate Mass. It is one final chance to come together with the Class of 2026 and their families to reflect, give thanks, and celebrate the journey we have shared.

Tomorrow morning, we will proudly send our seniors forth at Graduation. Their time at Xavier has come to a close, but the foundation they built here, grounded in faith, brotherhood, and purpose, will support them wherever they go. They are always Falcons and will always have a home here at Xavier.

One of the hallmarks of a Xaverian education is the enduring personal relationships formed along the way. The Class of 2026 embraced that fully. Over the last four years, these young men built meaningful bonds with their classmates, teachers, coaches, staff members, and administrators. They became a brotherhood in every sense of the word, supporting one another through challenges, celebrating successes together, and leaving an undeniable mark on our community.

This year, our school value was Compassion, and no class embodied that spirit more completely than the Class of 2026. They led with kindness. They showed enthusiasm in the classroom, on the stage, on the field, and throughout campus life. They were helpful to one another and to the younger students following in their footsteps. They carried themselves with heart, humility, and pride in being Xavier Falcons.

Simply put, they are a great class. Their impact will be felt long after they walk across the stage tomorrow morning, and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish next.

There will also be NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday with it being a B Day.

I wanted to share an excerpt Sunday's Gospel from John 20: 21.

"As the Father has sent me, so I send you."

In this passage from John’s Gospel, Jesus speaks to His disciples after the Resurrection, reminding them that their faith is not meant to remain behind closed doors. They are called to move forward with purpose, to lead, to serve, and to bring light to the world around them.

That mission resonates deeply within the Xavier community. Each day, our students are challenged not only to grow academically, but also to become young men of faith, character, compassion, and leadership. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic fields, on the stage, or through service to others, Xavier seeks to prepare students to carry those values into the world long after they leave our halls.

Just as the disciples were sent forth with purpose, we are reminded that a Xavier education is ultimately about forming young men who are ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

God Bless! Enjoy the Holiday weekend!

Mr. Cerreta '01
President, Xavier High School

FROM THE ENROLLMENT OFFICE

- We have an interested exchange student that would like to study at Xavier! Len is a 16 year old from China who is interested in sailing and skiing. He also plays guitar and enjoys reading detective and mystery books. If you're interested in hosting Len please email Chris Sansone, Director of Enrollment. Len wrote the following "I am 16 years old and in 10th grade. In my city, we have a famous 'morning tea' culture where people chat, joke, and enjoy local foods like White Cut Chicken. I have a little sister and some pet turtles, and we take care of them together every weekend. I like to sail with my team, read mysteries like Murder on the Orient Express, and study Microeconomics because it helps me understand the world around me. I can’t wait to study in the US, make new friends, share my culture, and bring my humor and positive attitude to new environments."

- ASSE International is partnering with Xavier High School to welcome international high school exchange students, ages 15-18, into your family and create bonds that will last a lifetime. Hosting an international student offers a unique cultural exchange experience for both the student and your family. Families that host an exchange student will receive a $5,000 tuition discount. To learn more about hosting an international exchange student or contact Chris Sansone, Director of Enrollment.
