Xavier High School Parent Weekly Newsletter - November 21

Dear Xavier Families,

As we head into the week of Thanksgiving, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the incredible continued generosity you have shown in support of the Kamp family. With Compassion as our Xaverian value of the year, it has been heartwarming to witness our community care for one another with such intention and grace. This fall has been a powerful reminder of what it means to belong to a family that lifts each other up.

On Tuesday, we hosted a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. True to form, the Xavier community rose to the occasion. Students, faculty, and staff stepped forward throughout the day, and the result was a testament to the generosity and compassion that thrive within these walls.

That spirit carried into Friday, when our students delivered more than 1,000 canned goods of gravy and cranberry sauce for the Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project. Service is at the heart of who we are, and it's inspiring to see our young men embracing the call to give back to the wider community. It's always nice to see acts of kindness that ripple far beyond campus.

In conjunction with the Middletown Police Department, who is a great community partner, we held a lockdown drill this morning. Safety of your sons and everyone on campus is our main concern.

And now, the spotlight turns to the stage this weekend as the Mercy/Xavier Drama Club presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. Performances will take place at Mercy on Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. The buzz is already building. Staff who attended Thursday's dress rehearsal couldn't stop talking about the talent, energy, and hard work on display. If you have a chance, don't miss this incredible production.
You can purchase tickets HERE.

Every week at Xavier is filled with moments that remind us of the strength and spirit of our community. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for the love and strength you bring to the Xavier community.

I wanted to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:

"Through trust, and in imitation of Theodore James Ryken, we are joined together in our faith and efforts to build our community, comforted and inspired by the understanding that in harmony, small things grow."

This passage captures the heart of who we are at Xavier. Trust binds us together as a community, just as it did for Theodore James Ryken when he first imagined the mission of the Xaverian Brothers. When we lean into that example, working side-by-side, supporting one another, and putting our faith into action, we discover the real strength of our school.

The quote reminds us that the big, visible moments of success are always built on countless small acts of kindness, generosity, patience, and service. When those efforts are carried out in harmony, with families and faculty moving together toward a shared purpose, they become transformative. At Xavier, it is in those small things that our young men grow, and it is through that growth that our community thrives.
