Dear Xavier Families,
As we move deeper into October, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and engagement in our community.
Earlier this week, we gathered as a school family for a special prayer service in remembrance of Brother Philip Revell, C.F.X. We shared with our students the news of Brother Philip's passing and took time to reflect on his life. Brother Philip devoted more than four decades of his life to serving others with compassion, humility, and unwavering faith. His journey of service carried him across three continents and countless lives, all positively impacted by his kindness, intellect, and commitment to the Xaverian mission. His impact on Xavier students will continue to be felt in the hallways, classrooms, and hearts of our community.
On Tuesday, Sam Todzia spoke to our students. He founded Red Barn Ministries in 2014, providing retreats and talks in churches, schools, and conferences. He holds a master's degree in theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary and is a certified mentor with CatholicPsych Institute. He spoke to our Falcons about authentic manhood, forging healthy relationships, and overcoming the challenges and pitfalls that young men face.
On Wednesday, our sophomores and juniors completed the PSAT exam. We are pleased to report that testing went smoothly across the board. These assessments provide a valuable opportunity for students to prepare for future standardized testing and college readiness. During that time, our freshmen participated in special programming designed to strengthen class unity and foster personal growth, important elements of the Xavier experience that extend well beyond the classroom. The programming included teaching our newest Falcons about self-advocacy and adapting to their new realty as students at Xavier.
Our originally scheduled Houli Day has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 25, as many in our community will be attending Brother Philip's funeral services in Massachusetts this weekend. We appreciate your understanding as we make time for our Xaverian family to honor and remember him together.
We also held a Big Falcon, Little Falcon event on Thursday, where upperclassmen and freshmen gathered in the cafeteria to share stories, laughter, and advice. These connections help ensure that every student finds his place at Xavier and feels supported on his journey.
As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, and the school and offices will be closed.
Wishing you all a restful and reflective long weekend.
I want to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
"Humility is the recognition of our total dependence on God. Adopting the selfless attitude of Christ, we accept that each person is a unique expression of God's love, is gifted, and is loved in their sinful and graced humanity. We recognize our brothers and sisters as images of God with whom we journey in faith."

If your son is absent from school, they are not allowed to attend practice or games unless they receive permission from Ms. Drewry. Any athlete who is found in violation of this policy will be immediately sent home from their event and face additional school consequences. Additionally, athletes who arrive late or leave early, must be present for 5 full class periods in order to be eligible for athletics.
- Parents of Fall Athletes: Reminder that parent pick up after practices/games should be in the back of the school and not along the side of the building. Parents must stay out of the bus pick up/drop off lane. It has been clearly painted and marked on the side of the building.
