Dear Xavier Families,
This week at Xavier, we were reminded once again of what makes our community so special.
On Tuesday evening, our sophomore class gathered for their Class Night, an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that define a Xaverian education. These moments, both inside and outside the classroom, help our young men form the enduring personal relationships that last long after graduation.
On Wednesday, we came together as a school community to celebrate our annual Respect for Life Mass. Gathering in worship is central to who we are, and it was a powerful reminder of our shared faith and the values that guide us every day.
Also on Wednesday, our cross country team captured their tenth straight SCC Championship. Six runners finished in the top ten of the varsity race, and all seven earned All SCC honors. Congratulations Coach Stonier, Nolan O'Connor, Landon Rubano, Peter Torello, Jackson Gould, Holden Hines, Xavier Laudati, and James Perrault on an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects both their dedication and teamwork.
Thursday evening brought another moment of pride as we celebrated our Fall National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. The event honored the outstanding academic achievements of our students and recognized their commitment to scholarship, leadership, service, and character. It was a special night to celebrate their hard work and excellence in the classroom.
As we approach the end of the first marking period, we encourage our students to stay focused, seek support when needed, and finish strong. It has been a busy and inspiring stretch, and we are proud of all that our young men continue to accomplish.
I want to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
"Simplicity is a way of thinking, feeling, and acting to offset the temptation to excessive materialism and consumerism, which can minimize the spiritual values of God's Kingdom. Making choices that favor the common good of humanity and our common home, simplicity calls us to work for justice for all people and nations."
Here are this week's updates and announcements...

Exceptions to this policy may be granted by the Dean of Students.

Clubs and teams are encouraged to sign up in groups to generate a greater sense of fellowship and camaraderie.

If your son is absent from school, they are not allowed to attend practice or games unless they receive permission from Ms. Drewry. Any athlete who is found in violation of this policy will be immediately sent home from their event and face additional school consequences. Additionally, athletes who arrive late or leave early, must be present for 5 full class periods in order to be eligible for athletics.
- Parents of Fall Athletes: Reminder that parent pick up after practices/games should be in the back of the school and not along the side of the building. Parents must stay out of the bus pick up/drop off lane. It has been clearly painted and marked on the side of the building.
- Winter Sports Registration opened on Tuesday October 14th. Please see the email from Mr. DeConti with the link to register.
- A reminder that all student athletes are required to have a physical on file in the nurse's office. Physicals are valid for 13 months from the date of the exam.
For the FAFSA night, please make sure students AND parents have created their FSA ID. If parents already have an FSA ID either for themselves when they were a student or as a parent of an older student, they do not need to create a new FSA ID as they are lifelong credentials.
