Dear Xavier Families,
This week at Xavier was filled with energy, growth, and community spirit.
On Tuesday evening, we welcomed many of you to our Parent Mini Schedule Night, and we are grateful for such a wonderful turnout. It was a joy to see you walk the halls, sit in the classrooms, and experience a glimpse of the academic rigor your sons embrace each day. We are proud of the strong partnership between our faculty and families in supporting the success of every Falcon.
Wednesday brought a meaningful opportunity for our freshmen during the Fall Freshman Leadership Day, led by Dan Jaskot '98 of Empower Leadership. At Xavier, we believe leadership is not confined to the classroom walls. Programs like this help cultivate the strength of character and spirit of service that define what it means to be a Xavier man. By fostering leadership early, we give our students the tools to thrive in all aspects of life.
Our School Counselors had a busy week as well, guiding our upperclassmen through Digital SAT preparation in advance of testing next month and assisting with Early-College Credit (ECE) registration. These experiences reflect the depth of academic and personal support available to our students as they prepare for their futures.
Finally, today we officially launched our 2025 Walk-A-Thon with a campus-wide kickoff celebration! We were even featured live this morning on Channel 3 WFSB during our pep rally. Our sophomores, juniors, and seniors presented a creative skit about life at Xavier and raising funds for this important tradition. It was a spirited way to begin this year's Walk-A-Thon, and we are excited for what lies ahead.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. Together, we continue to form young men of character, faith, and service.
I want to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
"Simplicity is a way of thinking, feeling, and acting to offset the temptation to excessive materialism and consumerism, which can minimize the spiritual values of God's Kingdom. Making choices that favor the common good of humanity and our common home, simplicity calls us to work for justice for all people and nations."
Here are this week's updates and announcements...

- Parents of fall athletes: This is a reminder to parents that Student-Athletes must be in school for the day in order to participate in their practices or contests. If your son is absent from school, they are not allowed to attend practice or games unless they receive permission from Ms. Drewry. Any athlete who is found in violation of this policy will be immediately sent home from their event and face additional school consequences. Additionally, athletes who arrive late or leave early, must be present for 5 full class periods in order to be eligible for athletics.

PSATs will be administered to all Sophomores and Juniors; there will be a Freshman Program during testing. Dismissal is 11:30 a.m.
- Parents of Fall Athletes: Reminder that parent pick up after practices/games should be in the back of the school and not along the side of the building. Parents must stay out of the bus pick up/drop off lane. It has been clearly painted and marked on the side of the building.
- On Thursday, students started the UCONN ECE registration process with the School Counselors. Please look out for an e-mail from UCONN soon to approve of your son's registration and complete payment.
- Seniors - A reminder to schedule your college meeting with your school counselor. Application deadlines are approaching quickly, and we require at least three weeks' notice to prepare and submit your materials on time.
- Freshman Parents - We have begun meeting individually with our freshmen. If you have any concerns or feel your son would benefit from meeting with his counselor sooner rather than later, please don't hesitate to reach out.
- Senior and Junior Parents Note! In the coming weeks, Xavier will host admission representatives from colleges across the United States. Please encourage your son to check Naviance to sign up for these visits.
