- Our annual Grandparents Mass is Sunday, September 7, at 10 AM, in Kohs Gymnasium! This opening of school event is for the entire Xavier community. You do not have to be a grandparent or have a grandparent in your party to attend. All faith traditions are invited. There will be a reception in the Dining Hall, and school tours led by Xavier students starting at 11:00 AM.
- For serious reasons a student may be dismissed early from school by bringing an explanatory note requesting permission from his parent to the Dean of Students by 8:10 a.m. Failure to do so will result in a detention. Medical appointments should not be scheduled during school time if possible. Any student dismissed before the end of period 5/5a will be ineligible to participate in or attend any athletic or extracurricular activity on that school day. Exceptions to this policy may be granted by the Dean of Students.
- An email was sent earlier this week regarding drop off and pick up procedures. To review the document please CLICK HERE.
- Our first schoolwide mass is Friday, September 19!
- Parents of fall athletes: This is a reminder to parents that Student-Athletes must be in school for the day in order to participate in their practices or contests. If your son is absent from school, they are not allowed to attend practice or games unless they receive permission from Ms. Drewry. Any athlete who is found in violation of this policy will be immediately sent home from their event and face additional school consequences. Additionally, athletes who arrive late or leave early, must be present for 5 full class periods in order to be eligible for athletics.
- Parents of Fall Athletes: Reminder that parent pick up after practices/games should be in the back of the school and not along the side of the building. Parents must stay out of the bus pick up/drop off lane. It has been clearly painted and marked on the side of the building.
- Senior and Junior Parents Note! In the coming weeks, Xavier will host admission representatives from colleges across the United States. Please encourage your son to check Naviance to sign up for these visits.
- Here is the list of schools that will be attending the week of September 8th: Pomona College.
- Registration for our annual Fall Open House on Sunday October 26 is open! This is one of the biggest days of the year for Xavier. Please share this link with any families or friends that may be interested in attending Xavier. We greatly appreciate your help! If you have any questions, please email Director of Enrollment, Mr. Chris Sansone '06.
Safe Environments Abuse Prevention Training
In the Diocese of Norwich, all volunteers who have regular contact with minors, all employees, all clergy, and all religious, are required to complete safe environments training. This training is monitored by the Office for Safe Environments (OSE).
In addition, this training is also available to any parishioner, or parent of a parochial school child, regardless of whether or not they wish to volunteer at their parish or school. It contains important information about keeping our children and youth safe.
The Diocese of Norwich offers two Praesidium programs. Both cover the same material, just in different formats. You can take the on-line program, Praesidium, or attend a one-time DVD presentation, Called to Protect.
The in person Called to Protect training classes are available on a very limited basis. Praesidium on line is available and is the preferred training at this time. For more information about in person training availability, contact the OSE. If you received training as a presenter of Called to Protect and are willing to conduct classes, please contact the Office for Safe Environment as soon as possible.
The OSE can be contacted to provide adult programs for parents, parishioners and all interested in keeping our youth safe, such as Setting Boundaries. A convenient time can be arranged.
Please contact the Child Advocate at your parish or school office in order to be enrolled, or for more information.

Have a great weekend!
God Bless.
