Xavier High School is proud to announce the exceptional achievements of its students in the 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) program, continuing a remarkable upward trend that reflects the school’s rigorous academic environment and student dedication.
This year, 127 Xavier students took 280 AP exams across a wide range of subjects, from Biology and Calculus to European History and Computer Science. An impressive 91 percent of Xavier’s AP students scored a 3 or higher, sustaining a five-year climb that has seen the school rise from 71 percent in 2021 to over 90 percent in both 2024 and 2025.
This places Xavier well above state and national averages in nearly every subject area.
Xavier students excelled notably in AP Biology, where every student earned a score of 3 or higher, producing an outstanding mean score of 4.60 that far surpassed state and global performance. The school also shone in English Language and Composition, where all students scored a 4 or 5 for a mean of 4.31, and in Precalculus, where 100 percent of students achieved scores of 3 or higher, with a mean of 4.32. In Computer Science Principles, Xavier students posted a 100 percent pass rate, dramatically outperforming their Connecticut and global peers.
"Our young men once again demonstrated not just academic mastery, but resilience, preparation, and a desire to push themselves beyond what’s easy," said Associate President Kyle St. George. "This kind of success is only possible because of the tireless dedication of our faculty."
Xavier’s AP program spans the humanities, sciences, mathematics, and languages, offering students a chance to earn college credit and sharpen skills that prepare them for higher education and life beyond campus. These achievements reflect the school’s broader mission to form young men who use their gifts to serve and inspire others.
As Xavier continues to foster a culture of academic excellence, these achievements reflect the school’s broader mission to form young men who use their gifts to serve and inspire others.
