Soccer’s Drew Sobieski Named an All-American

Earlier this year, senior goalkeeper Drew Sobieski was named a United Soccer Coaches All-American.

Sobieski becomes just the second All-American in program history, joining Diego Canellas ’25.

After an impressive club career with Oakwood MLS Next, Sobieski was stellar in his first season with the Falcons, posting 13 clean sheets surrendering just 10 goals in 20 games played. He led Xavier to a 15-3-2 overall record thanks to making 56 saves and registering a 0.5 goals-against average.

Drew will attend and play soccer at the University of Jacksonville next fall.

During the season, he racked up countless accolades including, being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-New England team, earning CHSCA All-State honors, and was a GameTimeCT First Team All-State selection.
Drew was also named the Southern Connecticut Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-SCC, and he was also tabbed as the SCC Athlete of the Month in September.

Congratulations, Drew! We look forward to following along as your journey in soccer continues.
