Xavier Wins Inaugural Southern Connecticut Conference Commissioner’s Cup!

The Xavier High School athletic department won the first-ever boys Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) Commissioner’s Cup during the 2025-26 school year! The Commissioner’s Cup recognizes the member schools that demonstrate the strongest overall athletic performance across all sanctioned sports.

The Falcons won the Boys Overall Trophy after recording 290 points, ahead of runner-up Fairfield Prep who finished with 260 points.

The award is given based on a point-scoring system. All varsity sports sponsored by the SCC are included in the scoring system. Points are awarded based on final regular-season standings and SCC postseason finishes. Points are also awarded for divisional, postseason league and state titles and runner-up finishes. The school (both boys and girls) with the highest cumulative point total at the end of the academic year will be named the Commissioner’s Cup champion.

Xavier earned a league-best 76 points in the fall and the Falcons also topped the conference with 110 points in the winter. Our teams wrapped up the year with 104 points in the spring.

During the school year, the Falcons won four SCC Championships. The cross country team won their 10th straight title, the wrestling team captured their eighth consecutive SCC championship, the indoor track & field team won for the fourth time in the last five years, and the golf team won the second title in the last three years to close out the spring.

The cross country team won the Class MM State title and the State Open title, Wrestling won the Class L state title and the State Open, golf won the Division I state title and Outdoor track and field finished as the runner-up at the Class MM State Championship.
