Alumni Homecoming Event Set for October 26th

In our continued efforts to do more for alumni and get you back on campus, we are conducting the Annual Alumni Homecoming Social on Saturday, October 26th beginning at noon.

All graduates of Xavier High School are invited to attend this special event. It is currently scheduled to be held in the Music Suite which can be accessed through the back entrance to the school. We would love to move it to Lino's Cafe (the cafeteria) if the number of attendees exceeds suite capacity, but only you can make that happen.

Soda, beer, wine and appetizers will be served at the social. Kickoff for the football contest between the Falcons and Foran High School will follow at 1:30. Free tickets for the football game will be distributed at the social.

We look forward to a record number of attendees. Get a group of classmates together and make plans to attend. Please register here by Wednesday, October 23rd so we have an accurate count for food and beverages.

Look forward to seeing many of you there!

Let's Build on the 2023-2024 Annual Appeal!

The Annual Appeal mailing will be going out to all alumni of Xavier High School during the months of October and November. Our goal this year is to take it to another level by exceeding the total of $1.15 million in net proceeds raised during the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

The financial future of your alma mater lies in your hands. We can't secure enough funds to provide adequate financial aid and enhance academic, athletic, and campus ministry programs without your support.

When you receive the mailing, please give to the best of your ability. Since we are stressing alumni participation this year, any gift you make will impact the percentage of contributors from your graduating class. One of our goals is to get the overall participation level up from 9% last year to 15% this year. Can't do it unless we get 500 new contributors! A return addressed envelope will be enclosed in that mailing for your convenience.

If you have never contributed to XHS in the past, make this the first of many years to come. A $25 donation is less than 50 cents a week; a $50 donation is less than $1 dollar a week; and a $100 is less than $2 a week. Isn't the Xavier education you received worth that weekly financial commitment and sacrifice?

Show us you care about the future of this school and want to make sure that a Xavier education is here and affordable for generations to come! Might even be your son or grandson in the future that becomes the beneficiary of your gift now!

Alumni Socials Drawing Good Attendance

Two socials were held during the month of September, and both were very successful!

Mike Picard '83 and Tony Suppa '96 hosted the Shoreline Social at 745 Osteria Restaurant in Old Saybrook on Wednesday, September 18. More than 40 alums attended that evening and were treated to cocktails and a wonderful array of food prepared by Tony. There was representation from many classes that evening ranging from the Class of 1967 (Joe Russo) to the Class of 2024 (Tom Collison).

The Monday Night Football Social held at Sicily Restaurant in Middletown on September 30 was also well attended. Unfortunately, the former Xavier quarterback duel expected to take place between Will Levis '18 and Tim Boyle '13 did not materialize. Will was injured in the first quarter and Tim did not see any action. However, that didn't seem to dampen the spirits of those that attended as a good time was had by all! Thanks to Chris Dibble '12, President of the Alumni Association, for organizing this gathering.

Dates of future socials will be posted in your E-Newsletter and sent via email blasts.

Still Searching for Missing Alums:

The Xavier Alumni & Development Office is conducting an all-out effort this year to find alumni from every class for whom we have no contact information. We would like to be able to reach them with this E-Newsletter and provide regular information regarding reunions and special alumni events. XHS has never been notified of their death, so we presume all are still living.
If you know the whereabouts of any of the alums from the Classes of 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985 listed below, please contact Suzanne Berry, Rich Feitel or Greg Jaskot in the Alumni & Development Office (860-346-7735, Ext. 737).

We will publish a list of as many Classes as space provides in each issue of the E-News going forward.
